“Courage” was the response given when we asked what it took for Wayun to relocate his family from Central Java to Bali in 1990 in search of a better life. This move drove him to pursue his dream of producing batik fabric in the traditional method. As time progressed, so did his business but his love for natural dyes stayed the same.

Amongst her passions of family and macrame, Dewi talked to us about her love for being in nature and how it is reflected in her work, “the least that I can give back to [nature] is to use sustainable materials for my work.” 

We love the traditional Balinese sarong so much that we set out with the hopes to modernize it and therefore highlight its beauty and utilitarian design. We gave it a new look with playful and elegant custom designs while staying true to the traditional craftsmanship of the piece.
